Between toothpaste and shaving my kids and husband clog their bathroom sink drains like nobody’s business. Luckily I’ve found an easy and natural way to clean the gunk from the drains. This basic recipe can be adjusted if your drain clog is bigger than usual. If it’s really bad, you can always try the coat hanger down the hatch to pull out gunk too. Ewww! Luckily my issues haven’t gotten that drastic. In fact, I like to run this concoction through the pipes every so often to prevent the build up from occurring. But when it does- this recipe is my go to!

Sink Drain Cleaner
Supplies:
Measuring cup
Timer
Ingredients:
1/2 c baking soda
1/2 c white vinegar
2 c boiling water
How-to:
-
Pour baking soda down the drain. (If you can’t pull out the stopper, alternate between a small amount of baking soda and then the vinegar.)
-
Add the white vinegar, just a little at a time to allow some foaming, then let it calm down, then pour a little more, until vinegar is gone.
-
Close drain with stopper or rag. Let sit for 20 minutes.
-
Pour boiling water down the drain. Your drain should be clear!
