Shopping Small this Season

This is my FAVORITE time of year and no pandemic is gonna shut down my celebrating! So where are you doing your Christmas shopping? Are you shopping small?

I, probably like you, frequent the easy-to-buy-from Amazon and Target. Just a few clicks, they already know your credit card number, it’s tempting, I know. But this year is really no joke that small-business livelihood’s are on the line. Can you take a look at all you have to buy and see where you can shop small instead? Instead of a bike from Target, find a local bike shop. Or instead of decor from Wal Mart, maybe a local boutique. Or instead of grocery store produce, local farms! Yes it requires a little thought but it means so much to the small-business owner.

And isn’t doing good what it’s all about this time of year?

I have some favorite local, as well as online businesses that I would love to recommend. If you have others be sure to comment with the link!

Mandarin Hill Orchards – Located in Penryn, CA I love this family and I love their mandarins. My dad got our mandarins here when I was young and now I take my family to do the same. They will have wine soon too! What’s not to love?

Create Hope Cuffs – This small-business owner is the nicest person to deal with and I have quite a collection of her products. The earrings are so light and the personalized cuffs are my absolute favorite. The leather jewelry is great to use with essential oils. Honestly her stuff is really the only jewelry I wear. She has lost a lot of sales this year with no craft fairs to attend. Check her out and see who you can check off your list with a purchase from her! This link specifically will give you $5 off!!

Deer Creek Farm – I wish the buyer from this boutique would come decorate my home because I love everything. Follow them on social media to get updates when they get new merch. You might go broke but your house will be the cutest! Ok, that wasn’t good marketing. Splurge responsibly. No online selling platform but their location is in Rocklin, CA.

Bayabelle Boutique – The cutest clothes and gifts. Defintely another to follow on social media. You can visit their shop in Lincoln, CA or shop online. I’ve shopped here for years and love the people and the quality! If not for someone on your list, I am sure you need a new holiday outfit!

Bottle Keeper – I know that you know someone who needs this! We use them, we love them. Cannot wait to try the ones for the cans! This link will give first time buyers $10 off! Dad, husband and brother done. You can thank me later!

Jane and Jean Boutique – More CUTE clothes! They are online but if you’re ever in Murphys, CA you should definitely stop in. Their in-person selection is even better!

I would be remiss if I didn’t give credit for this post to my sister who sent me a list of her favorite local small businesses. She actually has her own, through Doterra oils. If you have questions about essential oils and why I have over 50 different kinds (ha!), definitely reach out to her on Instagram @authenticallyyou_oils. She is so knowledgeable and constantly educating herself!

Here is her list:
Terra Cottage – CUTE home decor!
Whimsy and Wellness – Essential Oil supplies
Not Too Shabby – A little bit of everything for your home
California Carmel Company – Sugar rush! Everything looks so yummy!
Spin – Unique gifts for everyone! Maybe don’t let the kids wander…lots of adult humor! 417 Roseville Square, Roseville, CA 95678
The Olive Groove – Seasonings, olive oils and balsamic vinegars
Farmer’s Markets
Etsy
